The head of a village in Samcheok, Gangwon-do installed a monument to commemorate his achievements.

The installation cost the village public money, and the locals say it's embarrassing.

Reporter Kim Do-woon of G1 Broadcasting listened to the explanation of the village head.

A seaside village in Samcheok.

A silver monument taller than an adult is erected on the deck that runs along the sea.

The name of the current head of the village is written on it, and the official content is that the beach was damaged when an LNG production base came in near the village, but the beach was restored and repaired with the efforts of the current head.

It also includes the achievement of the director himself designing a hand-heart-shaped sculpture made to make the town famous.

However, there is controversy among the residents as to whether Lee Jang is not a historical figure and whether public funds are appropriate.

[Village residents: It seems that there is a public expense to say that it has been moved for 20 years, but it is a disgrace to the neighborhood.

Public funds are not built by anyone.]

The cost used to install public funds is also controversial.

9 million won was spent on the production of public funds, and 80 million won was spent on the hand heart sculpture right next to it.

Public funds were received for the village income business during the construction of a nearby LNG production base, and were collected through businesses such as accommodation and solar power.

The village head is in the position that there is no problem with the use of public funds because 21 people registered as village members out of 90 residents have agreed.

[Town head: I think there are good reasons to receive it (public money).

It was done through the resolution of the general meeting in the village, and I did not say that the head of the village was good at something.]

Whatever the reason, the quiet seaside town became noisy due to the public expense of the incumbent head.
