The Eiffel Tower, the symbol of Paris, France.

The colorful lights of the Eiffel Tower will be turned off an hour earlier than now due to the energy shortage across Europe. Let's watch the article together.

Today, at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, starting at sunset, 20,000 light bulbs twinkle every hour for five minutes.

According to the British daily The Guardian, this week the Paris City Hall will propose a plan this week to turn on the Eiffel Tower lights, which are currently on until 1 am, until 11:45 pm.

The move comes as Russia significantly limits energy supplies to Europe in retaliation for Western sanctions.

The Eiffel Tower isn't the only attraction in France that is trying to conserve energy.

Lighting of various buildings, including the Palace of Faro in southern Marseille, will also be turned off earlier this month.

France is less dependent on natural gas from Russia than other EU countries, but it cannot be free from rising energy prices.
