A doctor charged with killing a patient during liposuction has been sentenced to probation.

Judge Kwon Soon-hyang of the Pohang Branch of the Daegu District Court announced on the 30th that he had sentenced Doctor A to 6 months in prison, 2 years of probation, and a fine of 1 million won to Doctor A, who was charged with negligent manslaughter and violation of the Medical Law.

In addition, a fine of 8 million won was sentenced to Nursing Assistant B and another doctor C, who were both put on trial for neglecting the patient (work-related negligence).

According to the investigation, "Mr. A administered propofol, a sedative, at more than twice the appropriate amount while performing liposuction on a woman in her 40s in May last year, and inhaled 12 kg of liposuction, which is much more than the maximum recommended amount of about 7 kg. "It turned out.

Doctor A continued the operation even though bleeding was confirmed during the liposuction process, and his medical practice was not recorded in detail in the medical record.

Even though Nursing Assistant B confirmed that the woman's blood pressure was higher or lower than normal during the recovery process, she did not report or take appropriate medical treatment.

Another doctor, Mr. C, also did not closely check her side effects, such as recommending discharge, even though the woman showed signs of abnormality, such as not being able to properly control her body.

In the end, a woman in her 40s who underwent surgery by Mr. A died of excessive bleeding at dawn the next day.

The court said, "The degree of negligence of the defendants was not light, and the death of the victim occurred."
