In the free discussion today (26th), the second day of the People's Strength Dinner, the issue of determining the timing of the election of the next leadership came up on the table, but there was only debate and no conclusion was reached.

The lawmakers who attended the banquet held at the Cheonan Talent Education and Training Center in Chungcheongnam-do for 2 days and 1 night held a free discussion on current issues within the party for 2 hours starting at 9:30 am today.

At this meeting, it was reported that there were strong opinions on whether to hold the national convention to elect the next party leader before or after the regular National Assembly, depending on the interests of each runner.

After the discussion, floor leader Kwon Seong-dong met with reporters and said that a total of four lawmakers had expressed their opinions, and explained, "Isn't it possible that the emergency response committee chairperson Ho-young Joo will have a procedure to collect opinions through a non-subcommittee meeting in the future?"

In this regard, floor spokesperson Park Hyung-soo said at a briefing, "(Regarding the timing of the sub-team), a member of the lawmaker who said, 'There is a story in the non-captain at the end of January and early February. There were also concerns that 'when the regular National Assembly started and the people were transferred in a difficult situation, the people would rather be turned away,'" he said.

When asked about the pros and cons of holding a squadron within this year."

Meanwhile, four people who spoke in the closed discussion were identified as Yoon Sang-hyun, Kang Min-guk, Park Soo-young, and Choi Hyung-doo.

Among them, Rep. Kang and Park insisted that the event be held within the year, while Rep. Yoon and Choi expressed their opposition, saying it was 'premature'.

Rep. Park Soo-young told reporters who met at the banquet hall, "I spoke with the intention that it would be nice to finish this year so that the president can work normally with strength from next year."

In discussions about political reform, the transition to the collective leadership system came to the fore.

Rep. Kim Ki-hyun, who is considered to be the party leader, was the first to speak up about this, and other lawmakers later expressed some opinions, the attendees said.

However, when asked about whether or not to discuss the collective leadership system later, Assemblyman Kim declined to comment, saying, "It was not discussed, and there seems to be someone who said that."

Rep. Choi Hyung-doo also pointed out the necessity of reforming the leadership system and expressed the opinion that there is no need to maintain the party representative system.

Rep. Choi said, "In the case of the cabinet responsibility system, the party and the cabinet go together, so a representative is necessary, but is it correct that the representative system of the party in the presidential system is correct?"

During today's discussion, the People's Power explained that there was no mention of the circumstances surrounding former CEO Lee Jun-seok's application for an injunction to suspend the effect of non-submission.

Regarding this dinner party, floor leader Kwon said, "It was the first dinner party held in an external place due to the corona virus in three years, and it was the first dinner since becoming the ruling party. It was a very valuable opportunity to openly discuss the tasks that need to be pursued for economic recovery and national reform between the party governments,” he said. I am proud that I did it.”
