Kang Nan-hee, the spouse of the late former Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon, appeared in a lawsuit against the National Human Rights Commission of Korea and appealed to protect the honor of Park.

Kang was given the opportunity to speak directly on the hearing date of the administrative lawsuit held at the Seoul Administrative Court's 8th administrative division (Judge Lee Jeong-hee) hearing today (23rd) and said, "The Human Rights Commission violated the investigation initiation procedure, distorted the evidence, and I have violated human rights by branding my husband as a criminal just by making allegations.”

Kang also said, "Even though the Commission's investigation is ongoing, Chairman Choi Young-ae (then) publicly revealed his position as if there were sexual abuse (to former Mayor Park) through a media interview." "I couldn't erase the suspicion that the truth was distorted and investigated in a framing method," he said.

Kang burst into tears during his remarks.

He concluded his remarks by saying, "History will record the innocence of my husband Park Won-soon.

Former Mayor Park was found dead near Sukjeongmun Gate in Mt. Bukak in July 2020, and it became known after his death that he had been accused of sexual harassment by his subordinate, a Seoul city official.

The police concluded the investigation in December of the same year without finally being able to resolve the allegation of sexual harassment, but the Human Rights Commission admitted ex-Mayor Park's words and actions to the victim in an ex officio investigation.

Kang filed an administrative lawsuit in April of last year to cancel the measures recommended by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to improve the system while acknowledging the sexual harassment of former Mayor Park as a fact by the Human Rights Commission.
