A court has sentenced a man in his 50s to amputation by biting the other's finger while having an argument with another customer at a restaurant.

According to the legal community on the 4th, part 25-2 of the Criminal Settlement of the Seoul Central District Court (Judges Park Jeong-je, Dr. Park, and Park Jeong-gil) sentenced A (58), who was charged with personal injury, to one year in prison.

Person A is accused of having an acquaintance with customer B at a restaurant in Seoul last October and biting the index finger of his left hand and amputating him.

Mr. B, whose finger was amputated, immediately went to the hospital and underwent suture operation. Fortunately, it is now known that there is no problem with the injured finger.

In the end, Mr. A, who had to stand in court, insisted on his innocence and insisted on the position that "It was inevitable that Mr. B would defend himself by swinging his fist against him."

However, the court did not accept Mr. A's claim based on CCTV footage of the situation at the time and eyewitness statements.

The court explained the reason for sentencing, saying, "The accused's method of committing a crime is very bad, and the victim suffered minor injuries that required surgery and a considerable period of treatment."
