The older brother of a man in his 30s who assaulted and killed his late girlfriend Hwang Ye-jin, who was dating at an officetel in Mapo-gu, Seoul, has been confirmed.

After that, Mr. A was angry when Mr. Hwang chased him and grabbed his hair, and he assaulted Mr. Hwang several times, including hitting his head against a wall.

At the time of discovery, Mr. Hwang was transported to the hospital with damage to his skull, brain, and neck.



Person A, who was handed over to trial, claimed that the cerebral hemorrhage that caused the death was not caused by assault, but was caused by accidentally dropping Hwang's head on the floor while moving his body.



However, in January of last year, the court of first instance admitted all the charges and sentenced him to 7 years in prison, judging that Mr.



At the time of the verdict of the first trial court, protests and profanity erupted from the audience, such as "Isn't the law of our country that way?" and "Will your daughter be beaten for 7 years even if she dies?"



At the appeals court, Mr. A's side argued that assault should be applied, which has a lower punishment than homicide, and the prosecution requested 10 years in prison, saying the 7-year prison sentence set by the original court was too light.



In response, the court of appeals said, "During the first assault, the victim was pushed with a glass wall 10 times, but it is difficult to believe that he did not recognize that he could be damaged by shaking his head in the recoil."



On the other hand, after the sentencing of the appeals court, Hwang's family expressed regret that the charge of homicide rather than murder was applied.



At the time, Hwang's mother appealed, "If you think of it as your child and look at the case a little more sincerely, why the murder charge should be applied."
