A two-year-old child died of suffocation while eating sweet potatoes provided as a snack at a daycare center.
Today (14th), according to the Jeonbuk Fire Department and Jinan Police Station, a report was received that Army A (2) lost consciousness at about 3:18 pm the previous day at a daycare center in Jinan-eup, Jinan-gun, Jeollabuk-do.
The 119 paramedics who were dispatched after receiving the report performed CPR and transported group A to a nearby hospital, but eventually died.
As a result of the police investigation, it was determined that the children were eating sweet potatoes and milk as snacks at the daycare center at the time.
It is reported that the childcare teacher reported to 119 after group A showed abnormal symptoms such as coughing, moving to the bathroom and providing first aid.
A police official said, "It appears that the sweet potato was caught in the throat and died."
