 The court sentenced a customer in his 50s to a suspended sentence for stalking and talking to an employee in his 20s working at a shopping mall in Seoul several times. 



Today (12th), Detective 3 of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Judge Min Seong-cheol) sentenced A (51), who is accused of violating the Stalking Punishment Act, to 6 months in prison and 2 years of probation and 80 hours of diagnosis and counseling for stalking behavior. ordered to take it. 



Person A is accused of stalking, such as visiting the workplace of employee B in his 20s several times from October to December last year and talking to him.



The incident started on October 9, last year, after Mr. A first saw Mr. B, who works at a shopping mall.



At that time, Mr. A said to Mr. B, "Let's have coffee. Let's go out with me for a while. Do you have time to take a break?"

Mr. B continued to express his refusal, but Mr. A did not stop his approach. 



About a week or so later, Mr. A went to Mr. B's work place again, and when he did not see Mr. B, who was closed at the time, he asked the other employees, "Is he not here?" and looked inside the office. 



The next day, Mr. A came to Mr. B's work place and talked to Mr. B and his colleagues, "Let's drink coffee," and it is said that the police officer who was dispatched after receiving a 112 call took precautions. 



However, Mr. A went to Mr. B again after 20 minutes and talked to him, ignoring the precautions.   



After that, Mr. A said to Mr. B, "Let's go to a hotel together," "I want to get married," and "I have booked a hotel in Itaewon." It was investigated that he repeated acts such as smiling and looking at Mr. B. 



In the end, to Mr. A, who was eventually brought to the court, the judge pointed out that "the victim approached him unilaterally even though he explicitly expressed his refusal", and judged that "it caused anxiety or fear without justifiable reason against the will of the victim."
