According to the Korea Expressway Corporation, as of 10:30 am today, cars are traveling at a speed of less than 40 km/h in the 7 km section from Hannam to Seocho and from Singal Junction to Suwon in the direction of Busan on the Gyeongbu Expressway.



In the direction of Seoul Metropolitan Area 1st Ring Expressway (Seoul Outer Ring Expressway), cars are walking in turtle steps in a total section of 8 km, including Jangsu-Songnae, Gimpo-Jyu-ro, and Guri-Namyangju Tollgate-Topyeong.



Today's national traffic volume is 4.97 million units, of which 460,000 units are expected to travel from the metropolitan area to the provinces and 450,000 units from the provinces to the metropolitan area.



The Road Corporation explained, "The day before the Lunar New Year holiday, traffic will be more congested than usual on weekends for vehicles returning home from work."



Congestion on the way home is expected to peak at 6-7 pm today.



It takes Busan 5 hours 10 minutes, Gwangju 3 hours 40 minutes, Ulsan 4 hours 40 minutes, Daegu 4 hours 10 minutes, Daejeon 1 hour 50 minutes, Gangneung 2 hours from the Seoul tollgate at 11 am by car. 40 minutes.
