The police raided and searched a large cafe in Incheon today (29th), which was accused of forcing the business to operate 24 hours in protest against the limit of business hours.

According to the Incheon Metropolitan Police Agency's Metropolitan Investigation Unit, the police conducted a search and seizure this afternoon at Cafe A's headquarters and directly managed stores in Yeonsu-gu, Incheon.

The police are said to have conducted a search and seizure to secure the cafe's closed circuit (CC) TV and cafe access list.

Cafe A was reported to the police on the 18th and 20th after violating the government's business hours restrictions and operating two stores, the main store and directly managed store in Yeonsu-gu, 24 hours a day.

Earlier, this cafe protested against the government's guidelines for strengthening quarantine by affixing a notice titled 'This store will be open 24 hours in the future despite the government's business hours restrictions' on the entrances of the main store and direct management stores in Songdo.

Yeonsu-gu filed a complaint with the police against the cafe's CEO for violating the Act on the Prevention and Management of Infectious Diseases when the cafe continued to operate after 9 pm, the limit of business hours.

Cafe A changed its stance to follow the quarantine guidelines on the 21st as Yeonsu-gu took a strong response and closed at 9 pm.

The police plan to investigate the cafe's CEO and employees as soon as they analyze the data obtained through the search and seizure today.

Meanwhile, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the government has been implementing measures to strengthen quarantine measures, such as cafes and restaurants, from the 18th, allowing only 9 to 10 pm depending on the type of business.
