<Anchor> For the

first time, the public service agency, which caused controversy by indiscriminately inquiring personal information of mobile phone subscribers, so-called communication data, expressed its regret. I said I'd check the investigation activities in the past, but I still can't find a fundamental solution.

Correspondent Kim Kwan-jin reported.

<Reporter> The

high-ranking official's crime investigation office, which was criticized for inquiring communication data regardless of target, including reporters, reporters' families, and politicians, apologized for the first time.

"I followed past investigation practices without reflection," he said.

As a countermeasure, he came up with a plan "to come up with an improvement plan together with outsiders."

Nevertheless, he repeated the previous assertion that "in the process of confirming the phone number of the person involved in the incident, it is inevitable to check the communication data of the general public."

He does not bend his claim that it is a legitimate investigation activity, but while conducting an internal investigation in relation to reporter Lee Seong-yoon, who reported on the investigation into the emperor, he did not give a separate explanation about who he was talking to, and even a call history inquiry.

In the midst of this, it was confirmed that the communication data of about 10 professors belonging to the Society of Criminal Procedure Law, who had given critical opinions to the Airlift Service, were also transferred to the Airlift Service.

[Jung Woong-seok/Professor Seogyeong University (Chairman of the Korean Society of Criminal Procedure Law): The very idea of turning on academia is a very dangerous idea.In the name of the entire criminal-related academia, we are discussing a statement or something.]

The People's Power, which confirmed the fact that 21 members of its members had checked the communication data, urged the resignation of Kim Jin-wook, the Minister of Airborne Affairs, through a comment by a spokesperson.

Although it is necessary to provide a transparent explanation to the individual parties whose communication data was inquired about what incident and whom they spoke to, the Ministry of Airlift and Security has repeatedly reiterated its position that it is difficult to disclose the matter under investigation.
