A 30-year-old driver who hit and killed a female college student on her way home from a part-time job at dawn was sentenced to death.

Judge Kim Ji-young, the 7th independent criminal of the Daejeon District Court, sentenced 38-year-old A, who was charged with manslaughter, etc.

The court ruled, "The guilt is heavy, such as causing the death of a victim who crossed a crosswalk while driving under the influence of alcohol.

On the 7th of October, at 1:30 a.m., while driving a carnival van drunk while passing an intersection in Seo-gu, Daejeon, Mr. A ran into two pedestrians crossing the crosswalk and ran away.

A woman in her 20s was killed in the accident and a man in his 30s was seriously injured and is being treated at a nearby hospital.

The victim was a college student preparing for a job before graduation, living alone in Daejeon, away from his family, on his way home from work at a chicken shop.

A's vehicle drove 4 km further from the accident point, then rushed to a nearby sidewalk, crashed into a flower bed, and stopped.

Previously, the prosecution requested the highest life sentence under the 'Yun Chang-ho Act' in consideration of the fact that the accused caused an accident while violating traffic lights at night, the fact that the accident site was at a crosswalk, and how he fled without relief after the accident.

During the trial, Mr. A issued a statement of reflection about 30 times, but petitions and petitions calling for severe punishment also flooded the court.
