A police officer who was going to inoculate a corona 19 vaccine booster shot showed his wits and caught a voice phishing criminal who was depositing banknotes on top of an ATM.

According to the Yeonje Police Station in Busan, on the 15th at 2:28 pm, Inspector Jeong Mo, a member of the Yeonje Police Station, who was on his way to get a booster shot, witnessed a strange sight.

As I was passing in front of an ATM at a bank in Yeonsan-dong, Yeonje-gu, Busan, a man was depositing 50,000 won bills.

When Inspector Jeong saw the man taking money out of his pocket and depositing it, he had an intuition that he was a voice phishing criminal.

He called 911 first, and then knocked on the ATM door, thinking he had to hurry.

“I need to find money in a hurry, but what do I do if I deposit so much money?” Inspector Jeong asked, and the man panicked and stopped depositing and arguing.

During the fight, police dispatched from the nearby district and police station arrived at the scene and caught Mr. A (in his 20s), a voice phishing messenger.

As a result of the investigation, Mr. A had remitted 2 million won of the 24 million won he had stolen to the victim who was deceived by the voice phishing organization to an ATM.

Inspector Jeong was an old man who worked in the investigation department for 26 of the 35 years of his life as a police officer and one year before his retirement age.

A police official said, "I am fortunate to be able to catch a voice phishing criminal with the eyes of a veteran police falcon and return the victim's precious money."
