The Google Photos sharing and storage application has long been linked to Google Maps, the American giant's mapping service.

While it was already possible to view snapshots on a shot to find out where they were taken, a related new feature has just appeared on the software, reports Phonandroid.

It is now possible to display on a map the journey made between two photos taken and stored on the application.

The tool is retroactive, which allows users to find routes taken several years ago.

A function activated by default

To be able to access it, however, it is necessary to search a little.

Google Photos must first be open on Android.

From the "Search" tab of the app, you must then click on "Your card".

Viewing the trip is not available directly from the photo library.

The functionality, which is based on a permanent recording of personal data, is enabled by default.

To deactivate it, simply go to the "Your card" tab, then in "Options" and uncheck "Show your private trips".

Google's services are constantly evolving.

After the appearance of dark mode on Google Maps last October, the American firm has also improved the Street View mode and decided to integrate a news feed into the application.
