The mother's cohabitant, who severely injured her three-year-old son by beating her three-year-old son to the extent that her organs were ruptured, was urgently arrested on charges of accomplice.

The Hanam Police Department in Gyeonggi Province said yesterday afternoon that it had captured Mr. B, a 19-year-old man of the same nationality, who was living with Mr. A, a Vietnamese woman in her 20s, who was arrested yesterday afternoon.

Mr. B is accused of child abuse like Mr. A, and the police will apply for an arrest warrant as soon as the investigation of Mr. B is completed.

Earlier, on the afternoon of the 11th, Mr. A visited a hospital in Gangdong-gu, Seoul with his 3-year-old son, and was arrested by the police after a medical report suspected that his child had a bruise in his eye.

"My son didn't listen, so I hit him with his hand," he said in a police investigation.

In addition, the police have followed Mr. B by stating that "Mr. B, who lived with him for about a month recently, also hit his son."

It was investigated that Mr. A, who is an illegal immigrant, raised his son alone after a Filipino man who was his son's father was forcibly departed from the country in September.

A's son has been diagnosed with rupture of some organs in addition to a general bruise caused by the assault and is currently receiving treatment.
