While the government is implementing quarantine measures by raising the'social distancing' stage to the second stage nationwide, the amount of mobile phone movement in the metropolitan area decreased by about 20% compared to before the distancing was implemented.

However, even though the metropolitan area has been taking strict quarantine measures equivalent to the '2.5 stage' since the 30th of last month, the amount of movement appeared to have increased somewhat, so the government urged that tensions should not be relieved.

Today (10th), according to the Central Accident Control Center, the number of mobile phone movements in the metropolitan area on the weekend of the 5th to 6th was 26613,000, compared to the weekend (August 15-16) just before the upgrade of distance in the metropolitan area. It decreased by 20.5% (6.87 million).

Mobile phone traffic is a count of cases where a user of a mobile service provider has visited another city/gun/gu outside the area where they actually reside and stayed for more than 30 minutes.

Previously, the distance between the metropolitan area was upgraded to the second stage on the 16th and 2.5th stage on the 30th of last month.

However, the amount of movement increased by 6.3% (1.57 million) compared to the 25.43 million number that was the last weekend (August 29-30).

Despite raising the level of quarantine measures, the amount of movement has increased slightly.

Traffic volume and credit card sales in the metropolitan area also showed similar patterns.

The combined use of buses, subways and taxis in the metropolitan area on the last 5-6 days decreased by 24.3% (4.7 million cases) compared to August 15-16, the weekend just before the increase in distance, but the previous weekend (August 29-30) and By comparison, it was found to be an increase of 2.5% (360,000 cases).

Card sales also decreased by 10.3% (KRW 120.3 billion) compared to before the distance, but increased by 3.5% (KRW 35.6 billion) from the previous weekend.

Jungsubon referred to the results of the analysis of the amount of movement in the metropolitan area, and said, "The amount of movement has decreased significantly since the distance setting was implemented." I asked.

In a briefing, Sohn Young-rae, head of the Strategic Planning Division, explained that the movement amount increased after the '2.5 stage' measure in the metropolitan area, "the last weekend movement amount has increased slightly, but overall the (movement amount) has been decreasing." .

"It is thought to be an indicator of various difficulties, such as increased fatigue as the strengthened quarantine measures continue for a long time," said Son, and requested that the distance quarantine measures be strictly observed until the weekend.
