The 8th typhoon'Bobby' in the North is approaching the Korean Peninsula. Strong winds and heavy rain are pouring into Jeju Island, which has already entered the edge of the typhoon. I will connect to reporters who are on site.

Reporter Ha Chang-hoon of JIBS, please tell us about the news.

<Reporter> As an

adult man, I feel that the typhoon is really close as the storm is so intense that I can't stand properly.

Typhoon warnings have been in effect in Jeju, which has been directly affected by typhoons, and signs of typhoons have been confirmed throughout Jeju.

The typhoon is currently heading north from the sea about 200 km southwest of Seogwipo.

The central air pressure is 945 hectopascals, with strong winds of 45m/s and 162km/h in the center. The closest time to the Jeju area is 2pm in Seogwipo City and 3pm in Jeju City.

The Jeju region is very nervous about the news of the typhoon North.

This is because there is a story that this typhoon is a bigger typhoon than Volaben, which inflicted 7,400 damage in Jeju alone eight years ago.

Even though it is not in the nearest state yet, 6 safety measures, such as fixing signboards, and 78 preventive preparation activities, are also disproving.

In particular, due to a strong wind this morning, the green house in Wasan-ri, Jocheon-eup, was inclined, street trees were damaged in Seogwipo and Gujwa-eup, and streetlights fell in Ido-dong, Jeju-si.

In addition, concerns about this typhoon are growing as it is expected to be windier than rain.

More than 2,000 fishing boats have already fled to Hangpo-gu in the Jeju area, and all passenger ships connecting Jeju have stopped today.

Jeju International Airport said that all flights were canceled until 2pm, and that the previous flight could be canceled the day before today.

Hallasan climbing was also completely controlled from yesterday.

In response to the typhoon news, each farm has been preparing for emergencies such as house and drainage maintenance from yesterday.

In particular, the Jeju Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education also recommended that all kindergartens and schools that are open today should be switched to a one-day distance class for the safety of students.

Since it is the time when the typhoon approaches Jeju a little behind the Jeju Autonomous Province, the Disaster Countermeasure Headquarters is in operation to take preemptive measures to minimize the damage of this typhoon.
