Yes, the rain has faded slightly compared to 30 minutes ago, but the strong wind continues to blow, making you realize that the typhoon is approaching.

Since last night, the Jeju region entered the sphere of influence of the typhoon and even the typhoon warning was in effect.

Currently, typhoons are heading northward about 260km southwest of Seogwipo while maintaining a very strong strength.

The central air pressure is 950 hPa, and in the center, a strong wind of 43 meters per second and 155 kilometers per hour is blowing.

Fortunately, according to the forecast, the typhoon has turned a little further west, and the impact of the typhoon has not yet begun, so the damage is not counted.

But in Jeju, I am very nervous.

This is because this typhoon is regarded as a typhoon similar to or larger than Volaben, which inflicted 7,400 damage in Jeju alone eight years ago.

In particular, as the wind is expected to be stronger than the rain, preparations are being made.

With the typhoon coming to the north, more than 2,000 fishing boats have been evacuated to Hangpo-gu in the Jeju area, and all passenger ships connecting Jeju have stopped today.

Jeju International Airport said that all flights were canceled until 2 p.m., and after that, depending on the typhoon situation, the number of canceled flights could be increased.

Hallasan climbing was also completely controlled from yesterday.

In response to the typhoon news, each farm has been preparing for emergencies such as house and drainage maintenance from yesterday.

In particular, the Jeju Self-Governing Provincial Office of Education also recommended that all kindergartens and schools that are opening school should switch to remote classes for the day in consideration of the safety of students.

The Disaster Safety Countermeasure Headquarters is operating so that Jeju autonomous provinces can take preemptive response, and are making every effort to minimize the damage from this typhoon.
