“The developments that the university has is a world frontier, here we compete not with Russian manufacturers, but first of all with the world's leading corporations,” he said.
According to him, ready-made exhibits are presented at the Army-2020 forum, and not just “ideas and considerations”.
“These are concretely realized certain types of products,” Novikov noted.
He explained that the university aims to create a small aircraft by 2024 capable of flying between cities in the regions.
“Today we are working on a hybrid aircraft and we are considering such a concept as a fully electric aircraft,” the rector said.
Novikov added that "only five countries can be proud that they have the competence to produce aircraft engines."
“The Ufa State Aviation Technical University trains such specialists,” he stressed.
So, the directions in which the university operates are digital design of modern aircraft engines, materials science, as well as IT.
Earlier, in an interview with the Zvezda TV channel, Sergei Shoigu said that 39 contracts with defense industry enterprises worth almost 1.16 trillion rubles were signed at the Army-2020 forum.
