An explosion occurred at 2:59 am on April 4 at Lotte Chemical's Daesan Plant in Daesan-eup, Seosan-si, Chungnam.
It has been reported that six workers were injured and taken to hospital.
As the fire grew, the fire authorities issued a second phase of response and mobilized more than 240 personnel and 38 vehicles.
An official from the Chungnam Fire Department said, "It seems that some of the plant facilities have exploded."
