Ministry of Defense published documents on the liberation of Belgrade

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade from Nazi occupation, the Russian Ministry of Defense published declassified documents. This was reported by the press service of the defense department.

The Ministry of Defense’s website has a new historical section called “Shoulder-to-Shoulder Fought for Freedom,” which contains declassified documents from the Central Archive of the War Department.

The section contains materials from wartime newspapers, military magazines, award documents, political reports, and testimonies of German prisoners of war.

The section ends with an order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on the awarding of those who distinguished themselves in the battles for Belgrade and on the festive salute.

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense declassified the documents on the liberation of Riga.
