While a bunch of friends thought they had rented a dream villa, they finally fell on a vacant lot. The booking site did its mea culpa and made the compensation.

It must have been the beginning of a dream vacation, but it turned into a "nightmare". Chloé Melin and her friends had rented a villa on the island of Hvar in Croatia, for a period of ten days and the sum, pretty plump, of 6,240 euros. But on the spot, the small band fell on a wasteland. The ad they responded to was actually a scam.

Several tourists ripped off

When the group of twelve inquired about the neighborhood, they had the unpleasant surprise of discovering that they were not the only ones to have been had since the beginning of the summer. Obviously, the "owner" of the dummy villa was no longer answering the phone in the meantime. In Paris , Chloe also explains that the site Booking, on which the reservation had been made, has long been difficult to reach.

you realize that we paid about 6500th a villa in Croatia, we were too much haste and arrived on the spot we find a vacant land ???

"We offered them financial compensation"

The story, which the group shared on social networks, did not fail to react throughout the day Monday. Finally, Chloe and her friends managed to reach a Booking manager who offered them a refund within ten days.

Contacted by Le Parisien , the platform said "sincerely sorry". "We also took over the booking of a new accommodation and offered them financial compensation," she added. The fraudulent advertisement has been removed.
