The carmaker Daimler has in the already announced recall for inadmissible Abschalteinrichtungen in the exhaust gas cleaning Europe-wide get 690,000 diesel in the workshops. These include 280,000 vehicles in Germany, as confirmed by the Federal Ministry of Transport in Berlin on Monday on request. Department chief Andreas Scheuer (CSU) had announced the recall in mid-June after a meeting with CEO Dieter Zetsche. At that time, first of a total of 774,000 vehicles were mentioned, including 238,000 in Germany. The Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) has therefore already begun testing new exhaust gas software. First Der Spiegel had reported on the order.

Daimler stressed that they cooperate with the authorities. As previously with the vans Vito, in which the KBA had already complained about an inadmissible defeat device, the manufacturer but also against the new decision objection. According to the ministry, the list includes, in addition to the Vito, variants of the C-, E- and S-Class or the SUVs GLC, GLE and GLS. Affected holders wants to inform Daimler.
