The government has announced that it will pay a subsidy of 2.5 million won to the mother who gave birth in October next year because of low fertility measures.

The National Assembly Health and Welfare Committee agreed on October 28 to pay 2.5 million KRW per child per month to all mothers starting next October.

As the news comes out, there are still half-lives, but there is a realistic reaction that it is not enough to raise the fertility rate.

First of all, the people who welcome this decision are welcomed as saying, "As soon as I give birth, I will make a little contribution because I have money."

On the other hand, those who point out that it is only a freeze are two big opinions.

The first point is that the time to give birth incentives is vague. The government plans to pay a subsidy from October next year. Parents who had a child born before October did not receive it, and only children born after that were unfair.
"I want to get rid of the unnecessary discriminatory controversy. I hope that even if the amount is lowered, the benefit will be given to all families," a Korean-born writer said on the bulletin board of the National Assembly. Another contributor complained, "Do you want to wait until October and have a baby?" "Do you mean to encourage childbirth?"

The second comment is that the temporary payment of 2.5 million won does not help much, so we need more specific measures.

A nurse who introduced herself as the father of three children suggested an alternative, saying, "I think it should be better to live basically." He said that there is a lot of money to go to elementary school, kindergarten, and daycare center every month. "What if you would rather provide free education for children?"
"I do not know if it's going to be hard to raise a child while I go to work," said a naughty man named Walking Mam, I do not think at all, "he said. He added, "I would like to take measures such as adding an annual number of children and shortening working hours for one of the parents who have children under the age of eight."

In addition, there were opinions that "I would like to give child-rearing assistance to those who raise unborn babies," and "I would like to pay tuition fees such as school fees."
The budget for childbirth incentives from October to December next year is 103.1 billion won. The next year, 2020, is expected to reach 412.4 billion won.

The budget that passed the standing committee will be finalized through the budget closing committee and plenary session.

It is 'news pick'.
