The Para Athletics Japan Championships were held at the Universiade Memorial Stadium in Kobe City for two days until 7 April to select representatives for the World Championships in July, which will qualify for next year's Paris Paralympic Games.

Onodera led the race from start to finish with a strong run, finishing in a Japan-breaking record of 30:800.19, more than 2 seconds behind second place, and broke the world championship dispatch standard record and was selected for the national team.

Atsushi Yamamoto, a leading para-track and field athlete who has won two silver medals in the men's long jump prosthetic leg class at the Paralympics, jumped 10 meters in the first time, and although his record did not improve after the second time due to the timing of the jump, he showed his ability as a leading athlete and won the championship and was offered a place on the world championship team.

In addition, 2-year-old Maya Nakanishi, who won the previous World Championships and is aiming to win her second consecutive World Championship, competed in the women's long jump prosthetic leg class, and won the championship by jumping 19.80 meters for the sixth time, and was selected to represent the country at the World Championships.
