After the qualification, which was carried out in brilliant sunshine, one can wonder who will be able to challenge Jonna Sundling during the afternoon's final session in the freestyle sprint in the Italian South Tyrol.

Sundling finished the 1.4 kilometer distance in 2.47.26, with that time she was superior.

Qualifying runner-up Mathilde Myhrvold, Norway, was more than three seconds slower and third-placed Jessie Diggins, USA, just over five behind.

Linn Svahn fourth

None of the Swedes had any problems with getting into the 30 who are allowed to go to the quarter-finals starting at 2:30 p.m.

Linn Svahn was fourth, Maja Dahlqvist sixth, Johanna Hagström eighth, Emma Ribom eleventh and Moa Lundgren 14th.

On the men's side, it was worse.

Both Marcus Grate and Calle Halfvarsson were eliminated.

For Halfvarsson, it was probably a serious miscalculation, as he came second in his last World Cup sprint – in the Val di Fiemme Tour de Ski sprint just under a month ago.

Kläbo fastest

However, Edvin Anger and Johan Häggström are ahead.

Listed as fine four.

The fastest was the Norwegian sovereign Johannes Hösflot Kläbo.

The World Cup competitions in Toblach are the last before the WC in Planica, 22 February–5 March.
