During the EC last year and at the WC most recently, the Swedish dressage team finished in fourth place.

In Tryon, USA, four years ago at the World Championships, the margin for a bronze was minimal;

0.2 percent.

Now the Swedish quartet is aiming for a medal in Herning.

- I thought in Tryon there was more competition and there we were 0.2 from a medal.

Everyone in the team also rode very well there.

If we do the same performance here, I think we might get 0.2 on our side, says Patrik Kittel.

Höberg and Ramel begin

Half the starting field rides on Saturday and for the Swedish part Jeanna Högberg and Juliette Ramel start on Saturday.

- Very expectant, it will be fun and we have a strong team, says Juliette Ramel.

Jeanna Högberg and her horse Astoria ride first in the Swedish team with starting number 17. For Högberg it is a WC comeback, she was last in Caen in 2014 and her 10-year-old mare is making her WC debut.

Just like her teammates, she believes in an even fight for the team medals.

- I think we have very good chances, we have to dare!

Very important in this situation, I think, many teams that are quite equal at the top, so it will depend on the day's form and the day's performances, says Jeanna Högberg.

Denmark gold favorite

Home nation Denmark is the gold favorite and big nations like Germany and Great Britain can never be counted out.

But confederation captain Bo Jenå is also super clear about the objective.

- We want to join in and fight for the medals, of course.

We had a lovely pre-camp down at Patrik's place last week and our mental coach, Kjell Enhager, was there and both horses and riders are super excited, says Jenå.
