SC Karuizawa Club won the Japan Women's Curling Championship this year. Junko Nishimuro, 43, is the oldest player on the team and is a 30-year competitive veteran.

She will represent Japan at the world championships for the first time in 18 years. The veteran athlete has her sights set on competing in the Olympics in 2026, when she will be 45 years old. She started curling at the age of 11 and became a founding member of Team Nagano.
