Earlier on Monday, the news came that the iconic national team captain Bengt Johansson had fallen asleep after a long illness.

He turned 79 years old.

In tonight's three Swedish Championship finals, "Bengan" was honored with a minute of silence.

- We will keep a minute of silence and the team and the judges will wear mourning ribbons.

Bengt was a great leader who meant an incredible amount to Swedish handball, says Peter Gentzel, CEO of Swedish Elite Handball, to Sportbladet.
