Spanish footballer Santi Mina was sentenced to four years in prison for sexual abuse of a woman by the court in Almería (Andalusia), the Iberian press reported on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old Celta Vigo striker, on the other hand, was not found guilty of sexual assault in this case, which dates back to June 18, 2017.

The victim was in a caravan in Mojácar, a seaside town in the province of Almería, with another footballer, David Goldar, when Mina wanted to have sex with her.

Removal measure and compensation

The Celta Vigo player was also ordered to stay at least 500m away from the young woman for twelve years, and to compensate her up to 50,000 euros.

Goldar (27), friend of Mina and current defender of Ibiza (Spanish D2), also appeared before Spanish justice for sexual assault.

He was acquitted.
