Musimani's relationship with Al-Ahly reaches a dead end

The South African iDiski Times network revealed the failure of Al-Ahly club’s negotiations with the coach of the first football team, Petso Mosimane, regarding the renewal of his contract with the team.

The newspaper said that the renewal negotiations between the club and the South African coach reached a dead end, due to the Egyptian club’s refusal of the coach’s conditions, which he described as “impossible,” regarding the large salary he demands and the periodic increase in salary.

She added that the reason for the complexity of negotiations between Musimani and Al-Ahly club chairman Mahmoud Al-Khatib, is the coach's desire to put a penalty clause in the new contract.

She explained that Mosimane wants to include a clause that protects him from dismissal because of his fear of the club's nature regarding the dismissal of coaches, in the event of poor results.

And the network indicated that Al-Ahly’s insistence not to agree to Mosimane’s condition, may make the 57-year-old leave the team’s training and return again to South Africa.

Mosimane's contract expires at the end of the current season, specifically on June 30, 2022.

The South African coach led Al-Ahly in October of last year 2020, and succeeded with him in obtaining the African Champions League title in two successive editions, the Egyptian Cup and the African Super, but his results at the local level were below expectations, as he lost the league title and the local super.
