Al-Ahly team was crowned champion of the Egypt Cup for the 2022-2023 season for the 39th time in its history, after defeating its traditional rival, Zamalek. The first half ended in a goalless draw, as the two teams failed to take advantage of the few attempts they had in front of the goals.
Imam Ashour scored the lead goal in the 84th minute through Mohamed Magdy Afsha. This was the first final match of the tournament to be held outside Egypt.
