“He is in serious condition”: Khabib Nurmagomedov spoke about his father’s health

The condition of Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov, father and coach of UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, remains grave. MMA lovers around the world are anxiously awaiting news about the health of a specialist, but very little information appears.

Khabib himself, who had previously preferred not to comment on this topic, the fighter admitted that his father’s situation was “very difficult” and asked subscribers to pray for him.

“A lot is written about the father on the Internet. He is in the hospital now. The condition is very serious. He had a heart complication against the background of the virus, as we had a heart operation on him a year ago. He had surgery again. He is in a difficult situation, very difficult. We ask Allah to return it to us too. Thanks a lot to everyone who writes, supports, Almighty asks for him. And may Allah help us all, ”said Khabib Nurmagomedov in a video message on Instagram. 

The fact that the specialist has become much better, said the coach of the Eagles MMA club Ruslan Rajabov.

“He came to himself. This was told to me by his eldest son Magomed. But this conversation did not take place today. No one has been allowed into the trainer yet. And as far as I know, old information about mechanical ventilation, ”Radjabov said in an interview with RT.

But the American fighter Josh Thomson, who is engaged with Habib in the AKA hall in California, when he arrives to prepare for fights, on the contrary, was somewhat encouraging to the fans. The athlete, referring to the wards of the coach Islam Makhachev and Umar Nurmagomedov, said that Nurmagomedov Sr. came out of a coma and can also move and talk.

According to the Mash Telegram channel, the man has confirmed the coronavirus, and he is currently connected to the ventilator.

Meanwhile, famous athletes, as well as coaches, continue to wish the coach a speedy recovery. Khabib’s manager Ali Abdel-Aziz posted on his Instagram page a post in two languages, Russian and English, in which he called Abdulmanap Magomedovich “a real highlander”.

“When he passes by, people stop when he speaks, people silently listen when he cares about you, it makes people happy, a real leader not only in martial arts, but also in life. He is not just a coach, for many he is a father, brother, he changed the lives of many people, ”wrote Abdel-Aziz. 

The manager noted that he works with many students of Nurmagomedov Sr., and they are all well-educated and devoted to each other.  

“Abdulmanap creates not only champions, but also decent people. I had a chance to see him twice, every time we competed, and he won because he knows how to win. Not only by force, but also by love, knowledge, wisdom. I love you, older brother, we are all fighting now, ”added Abdel-Aziz.

Magomed Ismailov, a famous Russian MMA fighter, also joined him, expressing the hope that “Allah will heal Uncle Abdulmanap”. And the former world boxing champion Sergei Kovalev wrote that coaches are waiting in the gyms of Dagestan and the whole world.

Coronavirus test and transportation to Moscow 

Abdulmanap Nurmagomedov was hospitalized in the Second City Hospital of the city of Makhachkala in late April. The specialist felt ill after returning from the mountains. He had a high fever and also started a severe cough.  

The trainer went to the doctors only a few days after the onset of the first symptoms, and he was given a preliminary diagnosis of pneumonia. Also, Nurmagomedov Sr. was tested for coronavirus, but so far nothing is known about its results. There is no official information that the man is ill with COVID-19.

In early May, the coach felt worse and was urgently transported to Moscow. In a conversation with reporters, a friend of the Nurmagomedov family, an Olympic wrestling judge, Ubaidula Osmanov suggested that the trainer had heart problems.  

And in the middle of the month it became known that the specialist fell into a coma and is in serious condition. According to media reports, the man had complications due to improper treatment in Dagestan.  

“I communicate with Khabib every day, I ask him about Abdulmanap. We called up when he was in Dagestan. I already said that everything is in order. But then they took him to Moscow, ”Makhachev said live on the Instagram account of BUKA Boxing.  

Commentator Rabadanov later said that his friend was in a coma after a heart operation, but the next day he came to his senses, although he did not start talking.
