- It is very positive that the Swedish clubs are so positive to release their players to the January tournament. We spend a lot of time and energy on having as good relationships as possible with our players' clubs. We also notice that there are players who bloom later in their careers and who we want to have the opportunity to see in our environment. Marcus Danielson is one such example. It feels like we have a good mix of players who have been with both previous, debutants and players who have been regular in our U21 national team, says the league captain Janne Andersson about the squad he left out.

European Championships against Russia and Finland

Sweden's footballers will be preparing for the European Championships next summer by meeting Russia and Finland at home at the Friends arena. The match against Russia will be played on March 28 and the meeting with the championship debutant Finland on June 4. In addition, two away matches will be added in connection with the home matches.

On June 10, the national team travels to their base camp - but where it will be is not yet determined.

The European Championship begins on June 12 and Sweden meets Spain in the premiere three days later.
