North Korea's ambassador to China revealed on the 28th that officials from the Japanese embassy had approached the counselor at the North Korean embassy about contacting him. North Korea refused, and repeatedly asked Japan to contact him.

Kim Yo Jong, sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, said in a statement on March 26 that the Japanese government accepts North Korea's position that the abduction issue has been resolved. In response, North Korea claimed that they would not be able to do so, which appears to be an attempt to repeatedly destabilize the Japanese side.
