Former Japanese national football team Tomokazu Myojin, who belongs to J3 “Nagano Parseiro”, will retire from this season only.

Myojin is 41 years old from Hyogo Prefecture. After joining Kashiwa Reysol in 1996, he gained numerous titles such as winning the league and Emperor's Cup during the Gamba Osaka period as a midfielder with plenty of exercise.

He has also played an active role as a representative of Japan, participating in the 2002 World Cup Japan-Korea Tournament and contributing to Japan's first final tournament.

Two years ago, I transferred to J3's “Nagano Parseiro” and played as the main axis of the team aiming for J2 promotion.

Myojin said, “I felt I couldn't meet the requirements of a professional soccer player,” and “I wanted to go up to J2 and see different scenery with many people, but I could n’t be promoted. I'm really sorry, and it ’s my pride and wealth that I was able to run and play the pitch in every club I belonged to.
