CAIRO (Reuters) - Egypt's Olympic team won the African Under-23 Nations Cup with a 2-1 win over Ivory Coast on Thursday after a 1-1 draw in the final at the Cairo International Stadium on Friday.
Egypt defender Karim Al Iraqi took the lead in the 36th minute before Abu Bakr Doumbia equalized in the 89th minute.

In the 114th minute in the second extra half, Ramadan Subhi scored the second goal for the Egyptian team to give his country the title.
Both Egypt and Ivory Coast qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympics when the former beat South Africa 3-0 and the latter beat Ghana on penalties after a 2-2 draw. The third beat Ghana on penalties earlier on Friday too.

The Egyptian team won the tournament for the first time in its history after hosting the third edition of the competition, which was launched in 2011 in Morocco and crowned the Gabonese team, and then the 2013 edition, which capped the Nigerian team.
