Team Niklas Edin becomes Sweden's men's team in the European Championship and on the women's side team Anna Hasselborg who defeated team Wranå in the European Championship qualifiers in September.

This is the fifth time a European Championship is being decided in Sweden and the question is whether it will be a double victory for the first time this time?

1983 won the Swedish ladies in Västerås and in 2012 won team Edin in Karlstad while the gold did not appear in Sundsvall in 1994 and in Örnsköldsvik in 2008.

Sweden in favorite position

Team Edin may be seen as one of the big favorites to win again. The team has six European Championship gold on the track record, four of which are in succession between 2014-2017.

In total, Sweden has taken 31 European gold since its inception in 1975. Ladies (20), men (11).

Team Hasselborg is the reigning champion after the victory in Estonia last year while Scotland won on the men's side.

"It is absolutely fantastic, this is what we have been charging for the entire autumn, to play a European championship at home," Anna Hasselborg told SVT Sport after the qualifying victory in Danderyd.

- I see both teams as gold favorites. The men have an experience and a confidence that is difficult to beat. The ladies have not been in the world top for so long but have enough experience. I think both teams will enjoy playing at home, they have the confidence to handle the press. The toughest competition comes from Scotland and Switzerland, says SVT expert Eva Lund.
