In October 2018, Protasovitsky, football players Pavel Mamaev, Alexander Kokorin and his brother Kirill were arrested and then convicted on charges of beating the head of the department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Pak, as well as the driver of TV presenter Olga Ushakova Vitaly Solovchuk.
He was sentenced to one year and five months.
On September 6, 2019, the court granted the application for the release of the Kokorins and Mamaev brothers by parole, and on the morning of September 17 they were released.
