James Crumbley, father of the shooter, now faces up to 15 years in prison. The verdict against the mother was pronounced at the beginning of February.

It is the first time in the United States that the parents of a shooter have been convicted of personal responsibility for such a crime. The case once again brings into focus the question of parents' responsibility for their children's actions. The parents were called to the school on the day of the crime because drawings of the 15-year-old's violent fantasies had been found. A short time later the teenager opened fire.
