Typhoon No. 6, a large and strong typhoon, is expected to slowly move northward while developing south of Miyakojima, Okinawa Prefecture, and to approach the Toshima Islands with a very strong force over the 24th.

In the Maejima Islands, where typhoons move slowly and are in stormy areas, storms and violent storms continue for a long time, and there is a risk of increased rainfall.

Be very vigilant against storms, high waves, low land inundation, and storm surges.

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a large and strong typhoon No. 6 is expected to move north-northwest at a slow speed over the sea 30 km south of Miyakojima at noon.

The air pressure at the center is 955 hectopascals, the maximum wind speed near the center is 40 meters, the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 60 meters, and a storm with a wind speed of 25 meters or more is blowing within 130 km from the center.

Miyakojima and Ishigakijima are in the typhoon storm area, and at Shimojishima Airport, we observed a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 38.6 meters after 8:30 am, and at Tonojo, Ishigaki City, we observed a maximum instantaneous wind speed of 31.2 meters before 11:30 am.

As the typhoon develops, it will slowly move northward, and it is expected that it will approach the Toshima Islands with a very strong force over the 24th.

The maximum wind speed over the 24th is expected to be 45 meters in the Okinawa region, 18 meters in the Amami region of Kagoshima prefecture, and the maximum instantaneous wind speed is 60 meters in the Okinawa region and 30 meters in the Amami region.

After that, the maximum wind speed over the 25th is ▽ Okinawa region 20 to 24 meters, ▽ Amami region 15 to 19 meters, maximum instantaneous wind speed ▽ Okinawa region 25 to 35 meters, ▽ Amami region 20 to 30 Expected to be meters.

In the Okinawa region, it is expected that a ferocious 11-meter squeeze will continue over the 24th.

It is expected that the wind will become stronger in the Maejima Islands, so please move to a sturdy building as soon as possible and take measures such as moving away from the windows indoors.

Due to the approaching typhoon, the atmospheric conditions in the Okinawa and Amami regions become unstable, and it may rain extremely heavily with lightning locally over the 24th, resulting in heavy rain.

The amount of rain that falls in the 24 hours until noon on the 24th is expected to be 250 mm in the Okinawa region and 120 mm in the Amami region, and then 24 hours from noon on the 24th to noon on the 25th. It is expected that it will rain 100 to 150 mm in the Okinawa and Amami regions.

In addition, because the approaching typhoon and the time of spring tide overlap, the tide level rises over the 24th in the Okinawa region, and there is a risk of high tide in low land near the coast and estuary.

Due to the slow movement of typhoons, it is expected that it will take longer to enter the storm zone in the Maejima Islands, and the Japan Meteorological Agency is very cautious of storms, high waves, storm surges, low land inundation, and river flooding. We are calling for attention to gusts such as lightning strikes and tornadoes.
