Power outages in Chiba Prefecture, 21,200 units (at 11:30 pm), 00:00 on September 20,

Due to Typhoon No. 15, there are still about 20,000 houses in Chiba Prefecture, and power outages continue. TEPCO is aiming to eliminate power outages in Midori Ward and Wakaba Ward in Chiba City on the 20th, and is working urgently to restore as many areas as possible.

According to TEPCO, as of 11:30 p.m. on 19th, there were still about 21200 blackouts in Chiba Prefecture.

Looking at the number of power outages by municipality, Ichihara City has 3000 units, Futtsu City has 2900 units, Minamiboso City and Kimitsu City has 2,600 units, Sanmu City has 2,400 units, and Yachimata City has 1,600 units.

On the other hand, according to TEPCO, power outages were mostly resolved in Kanzaki Town, Narita City, Tako Town, Togane City, Oami Shirasato City, Shibayama Town and Sakura City during the 19th.

However, it is said that a power failure may occur again if the wire remains damaged or there is a fallen tree, etc. even after it has been restored.

TEPCO is urgently working to restore as many areas as possible within 20 days, including the outlook that power outages will be almost eliminated in Midori and Wakaba Wards in Chiba City during the 20th.

On the other hand, in areas around the mountains where removal of fallen trees and restoration of utility poles and electric wires are expected to take time, work will be carried out with the aim of restoration by 27th of this month.

In addition, if the electrical wiring in the building is damaged, there is a risk of a “conducting fire” that fires from the wiring during restoration, so TEPCO has opened a house that has been out of power for a long time. When you go out, you are calling for attention, such as turning off the electric breaker in advance.
