According to the Kremlin, the Russian leader said this during a telephone conversation with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

According to him, the barbaric action of Kiev led to a large-scale environmental and humanitarian catastrophe.

The Turkish administration said earlier that Erdogan proposed the creation of an international commission to investigate the destruction of the dam of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Erdogan believes that the commission could include representatives of Russia, Ukraine, the UN and Turkey.

On the morning of June 6, the head of Nova Kakhovka, Vladimir Leontiev, reported damage to the upper part of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station.

Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the Kyiv regime committed a terrorist attack on the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant to prevent the offensive of the Russian armed forces in this area.
