[HIGHLIGHTS] Rogov: the shutdown of the Dnieper hydroelectric station deprived Ukraine of a powerful source of energy

Dnieper Hydroelectric Power Station (DneproGES) stopped work due to serious damage. The station provides more than 10% of the daily distribution of electricity in Ukraine.

The power station has a capacity of 1,600 megawatts. It is located in the city of Zaporozhye in the eastern part of the country, near the border with Russia. It was built in the 1950s. The power station was built to provide electricity to the city. It has been closed since 2008.
