New case of sexual assault after consuming a substance mixed in the drink. The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 38-year-old resident of Igualada for allegedly raping a woman he met on a night out in the early hours of May 27 at a local entertainment venue. The victim reported the next day that she had gone to the suspect's home voluntarily and that he offered her alcohol. After that, he said he doesn't remember anything else, according to police sources.
Hours later she woke up half-naked and with signs of having been raped so she left the floor and went to denounce. The Mossos arrested the suspect who has a criminal record for other crimes. In addition, the police are investigating what type of substance the victim could have taken, so a forensic study was carried out. The accused will go to court on Tuesday.
