Brazilian Robinho was arrested after being imprisoned for 9 years on conviction of rape. The former Real Madrid, Manchester City, and Italian Milan striker was arrested in the coastal city of Santos on Thursday.
In 2017, an Italian court sentenced Robinho to 9 years in prison for his involvement in the gang rape of a woman in a nightclub in the Italian city of Milan in 2013. Italy sought to ratify the ruling issued against Robinho in Brazil so that he could serve his sentence in his country, in light of Brazil not extraditing its citizens abroad.
