The great attention that the Wagner Group received during the war may have made the Russian leadership want to avoid offending them, according to Jörgen Elfving.

"You don't want to risk a negative expression of discontent from the so-called military bloggers and among those who are patriotically minded," he says in Morgonstudion.

But there are more possible explanations.

"You may not be able to criticize Prigozhin if you want to continue using the Wagner Group in Ukraine or anywhere else in the world," says Jörgen Elfving.
