Region Västerbotten's goal was for 80 percent of women to choose to be vaccinated against the HPV virus, which protects against cervical cancer.

The region is part of a study with the goal of eradicating cervical cancer and they offered, among other things, drop-in times around Christmas for more people to get vaccinated. But interest has been low.

So far, 3000 young women out of a total of 8000 have been vaccinated.

"Maybe it's because they don't have time and have thought to take it later. But I know that vaccination helps against cervical cancer," says vaccine coordinator Ronny Lestander.

What's your advice to these women who haven't been vaccinated?

- Book in now. Until the end of May, we have good resources for the vaccination, then it will be much worse, says Ronny Lestander.
