While the government has extended the restrictions on issuance of short-term visas to China until the end of next month, which was scheduled for the end of this month, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said it is continuing communication with China regarding the issue.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said, "We are preparing quarantine measures based on scientific standards," and "we are also communicating with China in this regard."

When asked if he had explained in advance to the Chinese side regarding the extension of the visa issuance restriction, he replied, "I say that communication has continued."

The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasure Headquarters said on the morning of the 27th, "We decided to extend the restriction on short-term visa issuance to China until February 28." It is a situation where the possibility of re-proliferation cannot be completely ruled out.”

"However, if the situation improves even before that, we plan to resume visa issuance."
